In <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.youtube\/inside-youtube\/youtube-premium-partners-with-delta-airlines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a new partnership<\/a> with Delta Airlines, YouTube is taking its videos, podcasts, and music playlists to the skies. The collaboration will see select <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/what-is-youtube-content-id\/\">YouTube<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/free-youtube-music-distribution-2\/\"> YouTube Music<\/a> content integrated into Delta\u2019s in-flight entertainment systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not just about killing time mid-flight. The partnership helps both parties achieve their goals, as YouTube and Delta both strive for \u201cindustry-leading entertainment experiences\u201d within their respective fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>\u201cAs two leaders in our respective spaces, each with a legacy of innovation and a deep commitment to serving as agents of human connection, Delta and YouTube are uniquely positioned to deliver an unmatched customer experience.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><cite>Julieta McCurry, Delta\u2019s Vice President of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The partnership is rolling out now to the 165,000+ seatback screens across Delta\u2019s more than 930 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Now Taking Off | Delta x YouTube\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/V_ZTmEFLgHg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3>What to expect onboard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Even before you board, the experience begins to take shape. YouTube and YouTube Music branding will be seen across Delta lounges, gate screens, and the boarding areas. As you\u2019re boarding, you\u2019ll be greeted by music powered by YouTube Music\u2019s playlists, setting the tone for the flight ahead for all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019re seated, Delta\u2019s seatback screens will be looking a little familiar too. You\u2019ll find a large library of content, from 32 YouTube Music playlists and over 20 hours of videos and podcasts from popular creators like MrBeast and Mel Robbins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>US SkyMiles Members can even connect to Delta\u2019s fast, free Wi-Fi to unlock the full <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/youtube-premium-gets-an-upgrade-faster-playback-speeds-better-audio-jump-ahead-and-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouTube Premium<\/a> experience for 14 days, without requiring any form of payment. That means ad-free viewing, background play, and offline access to their favorite videos and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>What it means for artists and creators<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For artists and creators, this partnership means new visibility. Delta serves around 200 million customers each year, and this puts artist and creator content directly in front of those millions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For music artists specifically, it also offers a new way to get discovered by listeners mid-flight. This spans across genres too, considering that the playlists are curated to suit different moods and audiences. Combine that with the YouTube Premium trial, and more people might discover (and later subscribe to) ad-free listening through YouTube Music- which could even put more money into the streaming ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>The bigger picture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube\u2019s partnership with Delta follows a similar move earlier this year when <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/youtube-music-waymo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouTube Music was added to Waymo\u2019s robotaxis<\/a>&#8211; another sign that the platform wants to be everywhere audiences are, even on the move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From driverless cars to commercial flights, YouTube is steadily expanding its reach beyond just your personal devices.
