The feature, known for combining AI technology with insights from Spotify\u2019s global editorial team, now allows Premium users to send text requests, make Spanish-language requests, and enjoy personalised prompts that help set the perfect mood for any moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Spotify<\/a>, these new tools are designed to give listeners \u201ceven more control.\u201d Since the company first introduced voice requests<\/a> earlier this year, there\u2019s been a noticeable rise in DJ listening. Now, users can type what they want to hear directly into the app, a feature that works seamlessly in both English and Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Typing requests adds a new level of flexibility for moments when speaking out loud isn\u2019t ideal, like during a commute or when you\u2019re in a quiet space. As TechCrunch<\/a> pointed out, this move mirrors the broader trend of conversational AI tools, where users are becoming comfortable switching between voice and text input – much like they already do with services such as Siri or ChatGPT. It\u2019s a natural next step for Spotify, reflecting the growing integration of AI into daily habits and interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spanish-speaking listeners are also getting a boost with DJ Livi, Spotify\u2019s Spanish-language version of the DJ. Users can now request songs and playlists in Spanish, asking for anything from \u201ccl\u00e1sicos de reggaet\u00f3n de los 2000\u201d to \u201ccanciones tranqui para desconectarte.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who aren\u2019t sure what to ask for, Spotify\u2019s AI now offers three personalised suggestions to get the music flowing. These prompts might include \u201creggaeton beats for an energetic afternoon\u201d or \u201crefreshing surf rock for a midday break,\u201d helping users find inspiration when they\u2019re unsure of what fits the vibe. This update complements Spotify\u2019s continued investment in interactive listening, including features that let creators use the Spotify library within DJ software<\/a>, making it easier to experiment with mixes and discover new sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To access the feature, Premium users simply search for \u201cDJ\u201d on Spotify, press play, and tap the DJ button in the bottom-right corner to give their request – either by speaking or typing. The AI can respond to prompts that combine genres, moods, artists, or activities, like \u201cplay some cosy folk music for autumn\u201d or \u201cgive me spooky tunes for my Halloween party.\u201d These additions build on Spotify\u2019s growing use of conversational AI<\/a> and follow earlier improvements such as voice requests, continuing to make the platform\u2019s DJ feel more human and adaptive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
