To celebrate its birthday, the platform is <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.youtube\/news-and-events\/celebrating-10-years-of-youtube-music\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rolling out new tools<\/a> to make music discovery and fandom more interactive. From new playlists to live show alerts, these updates are all about bringing fans closer to the music and artists they love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Like_You_mock_YouTube_Music.width-800.format-webp-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-105808 lazyload\" width=\"208\" height=\"429\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3>Taste Match: A way to connect over playlists<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The standout feature is Taste Match, a new playlist feature that evolves daily based on the listening habits of whoever joins the playlist. It works in a similar way to Spotify Blend, letting you discover music thanks to you and your friends&#8217; listening tastes. It\u2019s a simple way to connect over shared music tastes and discover new songs together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube is also making playlists more conversational. With 1.8 billion public playlists already on the platform, users will soon be able to share comments directly on playlists and albums- adding a new way to keep the conversation around your favourite tracks going strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Concert discovery gets an upgrade<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to an exclusive partnership with Bandsintown, YouTube Music is making it easier for fans to find live shows nearby. The platform is putting concert details in more places across YouTube, including artist videos, Shorts, and Official Artist Channels.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/gweb-uniblog-publish-prod\/images\/YTM_blog_BIT_live_events_16x9_001.width-800.format-webp.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019re also adding new notifications for tour dates, merch drops, and upcoming releases to ensure that fans never miss a beat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Putting fandom on display<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Want to show off your loyalty? YouTube Music has already introduced badges like \u201cFirst to Watch\u201d and \u201cTop Listener\u201d, with more badges on the way. Certainly a more novel feature, it lets fans display their dedication to their favourite artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube is also giving fans the chance to feel a part of their favourite artists journey, thanks to upcoming milestones. These milestones will indicate when an artist is close to major view counts such as 100,000, 1 million, or even 1 billion views.
