While they\u2019re nothing groundbreaking, they\u2019re worth implementing. They could just squeeze an extra drop of visibility from your Instagram posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Use Edits and see a boost<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, Instagram launched <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/edits-from-instagram\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Edits<\/a> which gives users an all-in-one app for creating and polishing videos from start to finish.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mosseri recently announced that Instagram is giving content made with Edits a higher ranking in Instagram&#8217;s algorithm. The idea? Well it seems as though this move is intended to encourage more people to use Edits. This is because Instagram will boost your ranking to more people, including those that may be interested in using Edits themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a couple of caveats though. This isn\u2019t a forever deal, with the boost only being around for now. So, if you want to ride the wave, now\u2019s the time. Instagram will also spot if you\u2019re trying to game the system by running your content through Edits. That means artists can easily drop in teasers of unreleased tracks as part of an initial rollout campaign, giving followers a taste of what\u2019s coming. Combine that with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.routenote.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RouteNote<\/a>\u2019s ability to get your music onto the Edits audio library for use by anyone, and you\u2019ve got some serious promo potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Stop worrying about engaging with similar content<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mosseri also sought to address a rumour that you need to like and comment on content in your niche to get more reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Mosseri, that\u2019s simply not how the algorithm works, \u201cwhat you decide to consume is not going to affect who you reach with your content\u201d. So don\u2019t waste time liking every similar account you can find just for the sake of it. Instead, you should just engage with the content you actually like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, there\u2019s a small catch. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialmediatoday.com\/news\/instagram-chief-mosseri-says-edits-reach-boost-engagement-myths\/757268\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SocialMediaToday<\/a> notes, interacting with similar accounts might still get you more eyes on your work- but only because those creators may notice you and check out your profile.
