With the help of PLUS1, Carpenter raised money for mental health, animal welfare, and LGBTQ+ rights charities.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Carpenter has been using her global pop star power for good, and utilising her success to support meaningful causes. In less than a year, the musician has raised over $1 million through her ‘Sabrina Carpenter Fund’, helping to support mental health, LGBTQ+ rights, and animal welfare around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative launched in 2024 as a partnership with nonprofit organisation PLUS1<\/a>, with $1 from every ticket sold on her tours going directly to selected charities. This resulted in a record-breaking milestone that no other artist in the PLUS1 programme has reached this quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Forbes<\/a>, Carpenter raised $824,000 during her ‘Short n\u2019 Sweet’ North American tour. The final push to the million-dollar mark came from her European shows, all while building up over 7.5 million views across social media as fans rallied behind the campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her own words, Carpenter explained, \u201cLess than a year ago, I launched a fund with PLUS1 around the ‘Short n\u2019 Sweet’ tour to help support some of the issue areas that matter most to me – mental health, animal welfare and LGBTQ+ rights,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m so grateful that I get to use my platform to amplify the work of incredible organizations like the JED Foundation, PAPYRUS, and Rainbow Railroad. The work of these groups is truly life-changing \u2013 from The JED Foundation\u2019s focus on protecting teen mental health and preventing suicide, to PAPYRUS, which provides mental health support for LGBTQ+ youth in the UK through its 24\/7 hotline, to Rainbow Railroad, which helps ensure safety and freedom for LGBTQ+ people around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These three charities – The Jed Foundation, PAPYRUS, and Rainbow Railroad – have all received support through the fund, with each organisation providing crucial services in the US, UK and globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLUS1 was founded in 2014 by Marika Anthony-Shaw, a former member of Arcade Fire. The organisation has now distributed over $30 million in grants, supporting over 350 artists, cultural leaders, comedians and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on its beginnings, Anthony-Shaw said: \u201cPLUS1 was this simple idea that $1 from every concert ticket should go to creating positive impact. We did that with Arcade Fire\u2026 It\u2019s really this philosophy of harnessing the collective energy of a passionate fanbase\u2026 to make a positive impact in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that artists like Carpenter truly understand the responsibility that comes with having a large platform: \u201cOnce you learn something, you don\u2019t unlearn it. Once you see it, you don\u2019t unsee it\u2026 With Sabrina in particular, there\u2019s an understanding of the responsibility of holding that microphone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
