Another lawsuit against the AI companies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Country musician and label owner Anthony Justice has filed class action lawsuits<\/a> against AI music generators Suno and Udio. His goal? To protect the rights of indie artists across the US.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filed in federal courts<\/a> in Massachusetts (against Suno) and New York (against Udio), the lawsuits claim that these platforms scraped and used millions of songs without permission to train their AI models. Justice alleges that this practice has particularly hurt independent creators who don\u2019t have the same legal or financial backing as major labels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move follows lawsuits<\/a> filed by the major labels last year. While major labels have since rumouredly begun licensing talks<\/a> with these AI platforms, indie artists have largely been \u201cleft without a seat at the table\u201d. Justice says it\u2019s time for that to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
