Apple has added and updated features to make recording more seamless and fun.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ever played the perfect melody, only to realise you never hit record? Apple has just solved this common headache for musicians. The newest Logic Pro update for Mac and iPad introduces a very handy feature called Flashback Capture<\/a>, alongside upgrades to AI-driven tools like Stem Splitter and new creative extras for music makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flashback Capture is Apple\u2019s latest addition to Logic Pro, designed to automatically save your audio and MIDI performances – even if you forget to press record. The feature works as soon as you hit play, quietly recording in the background. When inspiration hits unexpectedly, you can instantly bring back your performance with a key command or a custom control bar button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, Logic Pro offered a similar function just for MIDI. Now, with this update, it works with any audio source, whether you\u2019re singing, playing guitar, or jamming with loops. It even captures every pass of a looped section, giving you separate takes to choose from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feature is now available in Logic Pro 11.2 for Mac and Logic Pro 2.2 for iPad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn’t the only change that Logic has made recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another major upgrade comes to Stem Splitter, Logic Pro\u2019s AI-powered tool that breaks a track into separate audio stems. Originally, it could split vocals, drums, bass, and a catch-all \u201cother\u201d category. Now, it supports guitar and piano too, allowing even finer control for producers and remixers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also now choose from presets like \u201ca cappella,\u201d \u201cinstrumental with vocals,\u201d or \u201cjust instrumental.\u201d According to TechRadar<\/a>, this improvement boosts audio fidelity too – though brass sections and more niche instruments still end up in the \u201cother\u201d track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s important to note that Stem Splitter is only available on Macs and iPads with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple has also added a variety of new sound packs to spark creativity. iPad users can explore Dancefloor Rush, a pack full of drum and bass-inspired loops and Alchemy patches with a summer-ready sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
