Spotify <\/a>has officially reached 100 million paid subscribers in Europe. The news was announced by CEO and Co-Founder Daniel Ek during Spotify\u2019s annual media day at its Stockholm headquarters, where the company hosts guests from across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ek confirmed the milestone in a LinkedIn post<\/a>, calling the growth \u201cincredible\u201d for the company. He also revealed that Europe now accounts for nearly 40% of Spotify\u2019s global Premium subscriber base- a huge figure that is a testament to Europe’s importance to the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building from strong Q1 growth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Spotify\u2019s European milestone follows a strong start to the year<\/a>. In Q1 2025, the platform reported 268 million global paid subscribers- a 12% year-on-year increase and a 5 million jump from Q4 2024. This growth outperformed expectations, as it predicted growth of just 3 million new subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going forward, Spotify projects this growth momentum to continue<\/a>– aiming to reach 273 million paid subscribers globally by the end of Q2 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
