Previously, Premium users could only upload videos in 1080p up to 8GB file size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>X&#8217;s own engineering account revealed the news about 4K videos yesterday, explaining that it will soon be available to all premium subscribers. TechCrunch <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/04\/30\/x-is-rolling-out-support-for-4k-video-uploads\/\">reported<\/a> the news, and suggests that perhaps file sizes and video length will be increased for premium users when 4K becomes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#39;re starting to roll out 4k video uploads for some creators. <br \/><br \/>Coming soon for all <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/premium?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Premium<\/a> subscribers!<\/p>&mdash; Engineering (@XEng) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/XEng\/status\/1917342416626925676?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 29, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>There appears to be a firm focus on video for this social media platform at the moment. X <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/x-expands-vertical-video-feed\/\">expanded its vertical video feed<\/a> to users beyond the US back in January. With vertical video on mobile becoming a firm favourite format, and the future of TikTok remaining uncertain in the US, X is clearly aiming to position itself as a solidified video platform. The addition of ads in the video feed takes cues from other popular platforms, like Instagram, and  shows X&#8217;s attempt to gain back revenue it has lost &#8211; Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.pcmag.com\/social-media\/156438\/report-musk-says-x-is-barely-breaking-even-in-letter-to-employees\">admitted<\/a> the platform is &#8220;barely breaking even&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just a couple of weeks ago, it also quietly increased the <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/x-increases-video-length\/\">maximum video length<\/a> for free users from 140 seconds to 9 minutes and 59 seconds exactly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Soon&#8221; is the most information given so far as to when 4K video uploads will become available for Premium X subscribers &#8211; watch this space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/\">Want more updates from the world of social media and music?
