This leaves little room for additional audio-related benefits in a pricier tier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Financially, Apple Music operates on solid footing, already paying <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-much-music-streaming-services-pay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">higher royalty rates<\/a> than competitors. It also previously offered<a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/apple-music-to-pay-10-more-for-spatial-audio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> financial incentives<\/a> for artists to upload their tracks in Spatial Audio and did not raise prices when launching <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-upload-music-to-apple-music-classical\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apple Music Classical<\/a>. This contrasts with Spotify, who relies on streaming revenue and only recently achieved a <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotifys-q4-report-highlights-show-user-growth-and-revenue-increases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">full year of profitability<\/a> despite being the most popular streaming platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>A price increase instead?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Given Apple Music\u2019s existing premium offerings across their subscription tiers, a more expensive tier seems unlikely unless Apple introduces entirely new features. Instead, a price increase may be the <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/25\/02\/17\/how-apple-music-stands-firm-amidst-spotifys-premium-plan-hikes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more probable <\/a>outcome, considering Apple hasn\u2019t raised its subscription fees since late 2023.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Final thoughts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While speculation about Apple Music super-premium tier persists, there\u2019s currently little reason for Apple to introduce one. However, if Spotify\u2019s upcoming tier proves successful, it could push industry-wide changes that inspire some response from Apple.
