Here\u2019s what it counts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Artist-uploaded content<\/strong>: Videos, including Shorts, uploaded by the artist or their label.<\/li><li><strong>Collaborative works<\/strong>: Collaborations featuring the artist\u2019s music uploaded to other channels.<\/li><li><strong>Fan-generated content<\/strong>: Videos, including Shorts, uploaded by fans with the artist\u2019s music.<\/li><li><strong>Non-music content<\/strong>: Interestingly, non-music videos on an artist\u2019s channel are also included.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This approach covers listening and viewing across all YouTube formats, including YouTube, YouTube Music, and YouTube kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Why the change?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube describes this move as an effort to explore &#8220;new ways to show an artist&#8217;s presence and reach.&#8221; By focusing on <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>unique listeners and viewers, the Monthly Audience metric provides a more dynamic and up-to-date reflection of fan engagement.
