But are the EAH-AZ100 worth the $300 price tag?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Technics, the Japanese audio brand owned by Panasonic, manufacture some of the highest end professional and consumer audio gear. Their latest earbuds unveiled at CES, the EAH-AZ100 are the company&#8217;s most expensive pair of true wireless earbuds yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"EAH-AZ100 Flagship Hi-Fi True Wireless Earbuds with Magnetic Fluid Driver\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a_O9Oht5ymM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The star of the show lies within the earbuds themselves. The EAH-AZ100 have proprietary Magnetic Fluid Drivers. This technology, miniaturized from Technics&#8217; EAH-TZ700 wired in-ear monitors, is an oil-type liquid filled with magnetic particles, injected between the driver magnet and voice coil. There&#8217;s also an ultra-thin free edge, which enables ultra-low frequencies, as low as 3Hz. The Magnetic Fluid Drivers, ultra-thin free edge and 10mm driver size all hope to deliver balanced audio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Internals-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-102575 lazyload\" width=\"350\" height=\"350\"\/><figcaption><em>Image Credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/us.technics.com\/products\/premium-hi-fi-true-wireless-earbuds-with-dolby-atmos-and-noise-cancelling-eah-az100\">Technics<\/a><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The EAH-AZ100 are the successor to the EAH-AZ80, but in a reduced size and weight package. They come with a new fifth tip sizes, ML. Included in the box are XS, S, ML and L, with M pre-installed. Touch controls on the earbuds gives you access to music playback, calls and the voice assistant. There are built-in wearing sensors too, which means audio is automatically paused when the earbuds are removed from the ear and automatically play when re-entered. This action disables the touch sensors, which removes the risk of accidental taps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Controls.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-102576 lazyload\" width=\"350\" height=\"350\"\/><figcaption><em>Image Credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/us.technics.com\/products\/premium-hi-fi-true-wireless-earbuds-with-dolby-atmos-and-noise-cancelling-eah-az100\">Technics<\/a><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The EAH-AZ100 support Bluetooth 5.3, the latest Bluetooth LE Audio standard and LC3 codec for low-latency while gaming. Google Fast Pair means quick pairing with compatible Android devices. There&#8217;s multipoint device support for connection of up to three devices and fast switching between them. Auracast allows you to pair and share audio with additional pairs of compatible headphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The earbuds feature Adaptive Noise Cancelling, as well as ambient and attention modes. There&#8217;s Dolby Atmos spatial audio with Head Tracking too, which locks audio in 360-degree space, for an immersive 3D listening experience. Include the case for a total of 28 hours. These numbers are increased to 12 hours and 29 hours respectively when ANC is turned off. The case supports charging via USB-C and Qi wireless charging.
