Voice notes are being used increasingly more, transforming how artists communicate with fans.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The rise of voice notes: A new era of communication<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Voice notes are rapidly becoming a preferred method of communication across generations. These short, recorded messages offer a blend of convenience and personal connection that\u2019s hard to replicate with text. In fact, a recent study<\/a> revealed that 41% of Americans have noticed an increase in voice note usage in the last few years, with WhatsApp reporting that 7 billion voice notes were sent daily in 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While they\u2019re popular with Gen Z (84% use them), even millennials (63%), Gen X (56%), and baby boomers (47%) are also embracing the use of voice notes. Unlike traditional texts, voice notes convey tone, emotion, and personality which make them a powerful tool for fostering human communication. With their ability to make us feel closer to those we communicate with, there is a clear justification for voice notes’ growing appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voice notes in the music industry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The music industry is recognising the potential of voice notes. Stationhead, initially launched so anyone could create their own radio station, has evolved into a hub for artist-fan interaction. The platform\u2019s \u201cVoice Notes\u201d feature, introduced in July 2024<\/a>, allows artists to record and share messages with the 1000+ fan communities on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
