Ableton Live 12 brought with a whole plethora of new features, workflows, and creative potential &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/all-the-new-features-coming-to-ableton-live-12\/\">view them all here<\/a>. Now, there&#8217;s more to discover for all Live users with 12.1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12.1 adds new devices as well as some nifty new features. We&#8217;ll cover them each in turn so you can get to know what you&#8217;re using, but if you want a one-stop summary then check out their video walkthrough below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"What&#039;s new in Live 12.1?\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cUuxWHC5Pz4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3>Auto Shift &#8211; A new pitch correction device<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Auto Shift is a brand new tool in Live that detects and corrects the pitch of vocals in real-time. Select a scale or input your own and the device will ensure your vocals are staying on note. Use the in-built tools to make harmonies from your vocals, add vibrato, and modulate the sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Now in Live 12.1 \u2013 Auto Shift\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A3v6EK88Hy4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3>Drum Sampler &#8211; A new one-shot sampler with effects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a compact new device that allows you to jump into beatmaking with ease. It features the sampling controls you want to manipulate sounds by stretching and looping to start crafting a beat from. More effects in the device let you crush and modulate the sound to reinvent your one-shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Auto-tagging &#8211; Navigate your libraries easier<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>12.1 makes browsing your samples and plugins easier with tags that help filter your library into easily navigable sections. Ableton will even automatically assign tags to samples in your library less than a minute long, so you don&#8217;t have to sort through every sample.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>General Improvements &#8211; Updates to effects and MIDI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ableton have updated Limiter witha complete overhaul that makes the tool better to use and the sound better. Saturator gets a new Bass Shaper to help improve low end processing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MIDI also gets improvements, allowing users to filter and select notes by time, pitch, velocity, chance, and more. Glissando and LFO transformations have also been introduced to MPE, allowing new manipulation of selected notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Push &#8211; Controller updates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"What&#039;s new for Push with Live 12.1?\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PmE4JrANgw4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Live 12.1 introduces new updates to their Push controllers. Push 2 and 3 now offer control over Macros with mapping and Macro Variations encourage experimentation. Push 3 owners can also now add groove to all the MIDI clips in their Set with a &#8220;single twist of an encoder&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ableton write: &#8220;The new update brings Live 12\u2019s filtering system to the browser on Push 2 and 3, as well as auto-tagging for samples on Push 3 standalone. Plus, you can now save Default Sets and Template Sets on Push 2 and 3, and organize your Sets by moving tracks and scenes.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ableton Live is out now and is a free update to all Live 12 users.
