Spotify has introduced a new feature in its iOS app in Europe, allowing users to view pricing and promotional information for its subscription plans directly within the app. This update comes in response to the European Union’s Digital Markets Act<\/a>, which requires major tech platforms, like Apple, to provide more flexibility for app developers in how they communicate with users about payment options.

Historically, Spotify and Apple have had ongoing disputes over Apple\u2019s policies, especially concerning the 15-30% commission Apple takes on in-app purchases made through its App Store. To avoid these fees, Spotify previously directed users away from the app for subscription payments, which created a much less seamless experience for users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
