A huge day of action sees Fix The Tix recruiting artists to push ticketing bills to the U.S. congress.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fix The Tix are a music-industry backed coalition putting the pressure on the U.S. government. They have a simple goal: To fix fundamental issues in concert ticketing which hurts artists and fans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are pushing two ticketing bills in the U.S.: The Ticket Act and the Fans First Act<\/a>. Whilst the Ticket Act has made it through Congress, the Fans First Act is yet to be passed. The proposed bill would encourage more transparency around the fees involved in ticketing and push stronger measures against scalping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fix the Tix are holding a “Day of Action” on the 9th of July to push the bill into the spotlight. They are asking artists, industry figures, and fans to send the message out to policymakers that the bill is meaningful. They have provided a sample script<\/a> to inspire supporters to get involved by creating videos for social media. They also provide an email template<\/a> that supporters can copy from their website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an email, the Music Managers Forum U.S. wrote: “Flood your representatives’ inboxes. Remember, the goal of this is to get as many people as possible to go to fixthetix.org and demand comprehensive ticketing reform from Congress.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the Fix The Tix coalition include Bandsintown, the RIAA, UMG, A2IM, and many more. Over 250 artists have expressed support for their campaigns, including Billie Eilish, Lorde, Sia, and Green Day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
