TuneCore and RouteNote offer distribution of artists to major stores, but TuneCore cannot compete with RouteNote’s ultra competitive pricing.

Both RouteNote and TuneCore offer worldwide music distribution to many of the same top stores and streaming services, such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, TikTok and YouTube Music.

Exclusive stores, only with RouteNote:

Additional Features

TuneCore and RouteNote offer YouTube Content ID and Instagram/Facebook distribution. This allow users to monetize their content on these platforms. TuneCore charge a 20% fee for these stores. RouteNote bundle them at no extra cost with our Free or Premium services, giving you the option of keeping 85% or 100%.

Another RouteNote exclusive is SoundCloud Monetization. Earn revenue from streams on your SoundCloud profile and get a free unlimited uploads account.

Promotional Tools

TuneCore advertise a promotional feature they call linkShare. This allows you to collate and share all stores with one link. The feature is part of TuneCore’s Social Pro subscription for $7.99/month or $85.99/year. RouteNote can offer its artists a similar feature called Smart Links through our partner site PUSH.fm. Anyone can create unlimited Smart Links totally free.

With Push.fm you can also create Pre-Saves, Reward Links, Pay Links and Competitions. Get access to all of these features for free with Push.fm.

TuneCore has so many options, each with their own caveats, seemingly built to confuse artists. With TuneCore, you must pay a subscription or per-release fee to distribute to services beyond social media platforms. A “rising artist” subscription unlocks basic features such as release date scheduling, Spotify verification and revenue splits. You must be on the most expensive “professional” yearly subscription to access additional basic features like custom label names, the ability to use your own UPC, specify territories and pay an addition $14.99 per artist to release more than one artist. This last point is extremely limiting for labels. In case you hadn’t realised, all of these features and many more are available to all artists distributing with RouteNote.
