Spotify’s stategic partnership with Russia’s top teleco Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) offers all customers with 6 months of Premium membership for free.

After launching in Russia just one month ago, Spotify are now offering 6 months of Premium free of charge for all MTS customers to bump up its subscribers in the country. After the six months, customers may continue to use Spotify Premium for RUB169/month (approx. $2.30) charged via their mobile account.

MTS had 78.5 million subscribers at the end of Q1 2020. This is over half of all Russians and over 80% of all 95m smartphone holders.

Russia was the fastest growing major market globally for the music industry in 2019, growing 50.3% in revenue year-on-year according to statistics from IFPI.
