For the most successful music streaming service, Spotify’s family plan has always seemed a little restrictive compared to streaming rivals – not anymore.

Spotify have upgraded their family plan option to allow 6 individual users on a family subscription. Before today Spotify’s “family plan” allowed 2 users to access a premium account for $14.99/£14.99/€14.99, for roughly a quarter off each person’s monthly cost when split in half.

Spotify’s new family plan is offered at the same price but now allows up to 6 users, matching plans offered by competitors like Apple Music and Google Play Music. This is great news for families who, for the same price, can now add an extra 4 people to their Premium Spotify account.

Spotify’s family plan gives each user an individual account to save their music, playlists, and favourites whilst getting recommendations tailored just to them. Everyone on the plan will get premium as well, meaning they can listen to songs offline, avoid ads, and more extras.

The new family plan adds up to a saving of $45 on individual accounts every month if you have 6 people. Spotify’s updated family plan is available worldwide today, except Canada. You can sign up for a Spotify Premium family plan here: spotify.com/family.
