PreSonus, the company behind the Studio One desktop audio workstation (DAW), have now released a full, free DAW based on the full version of Studio One aptly named Studio One 3 Prime.

PreSonus describe Studio One 3 Prime as a “feature-rich digital audio workstation” that doesn’t have a time limit, gives you access to unlimited tracks and features a hefty selection of plugin inserts and virtual instruments.

Studio One 3 Prime comes bundled with Presence XT expandable sampler which features a 1.5 gigabyte library of plugins. You can also download a set of virtual instruments for free for use with Studio One 3 Prime. There are also 9 Audio Native Effects including Ampire, Beat Delay, Chorus, Mixverb and more.

The Studio One 3 Prime features everything you would expect from a free DAW and a little bit more, plus with the design of a full, paid DAW to boot it feels like the best quality free DAW available. As well as the basics you can use real-time time stretching, resampling, and normalisation; single and multitrack comping; multitrack track transform (advanced freezing) and Control Link controller mapping.

The Studio One 3 Prime is available right now from the PreSonus website here. You can also get a free 30 day trial of the power of the full paid Studio One when you use Studio One 3 Prime. For a comparison of the paid and free “Studio One” versions go here.
