Live Nation are responsible for more than 26,000 live events and 80 festivals and they’ve just chosen Amazon Web Services as their Cloud Infrastructure Provider.

The “world’s leading live entertainment and ticketing company” Live Nation have gone with Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon company, to host their IT infrastructure in their cloud. AWS will secure Live Nation’s online services across Ticketmaster and Corporate IT, including some of their Festival business.

Live Nation’s global ticketing business receives 80 million online visits every month with roughly 530 million tickets sold every year. Ticketmaster’s websites will be migrated to AWS through a variety of it’s subsidiaries to “simplify management of large-scale databases and for storage of logs and static content”.

Corporate IT’s transition will result in reduced costs and more flexibility that will allow them to align their focus on “more strategic initiatives”. It will use Amazon S3 for storage of data for disaster recovery, Amazon Workspaces for fully managed desktop computing services, and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and Amazon Redshift for application hosting workloads.

Live Nation CIO, David Huckabay said: “We have been working closely with the AWS team, and we are impressed with the superior security, performance, and reliability of their products. We look forward to the positive impact that going all-in on the AWS Cloud will have on our IT infrastructure across our key business divisions.”

Vice president of Worldwide Commercial Sales at AWS, Mike Clayville said: “Increasingly, enterprises around the world are deploying their critical workloads on AWS and going all-in so they can refocus on serving their customers best. We’re truly excited for Live Nation’s adoption AWS, which will allow them to quickly and easily scale, reduce costs, improve security, and increase agility for even their most critical workloads.”
