Amazon Echo speakers now all work with Tidal so that listeners can enjoy a high quality music streaming experience throughout their home.

Tidal has just been added to Amazon Echo devices so subscribers can listen to their music with Tidal’s promise of superior quality. Users can add Tidal to their Amazon Echo’s through the Alexa app by going to the Music & Books section and enabling the Tidal skill and then linking their Tidal account.

According to Tidal they are the first music streaming service to use Amazon’s self-service Music Skill API to build their app for the wireless streaming speakers. Lior Tibon, Tidal’s COO, said: “As the first streaming service to leverage Amazon’s new self-service Music Skill API, Tidal is always committed to finding new ways for subscribers to easily access the platform. Alexa provides a convenient, hands-free listening experience, which we’re sure our members will enjoy.”

Tidal subscribers with an Amazon Echo can set the Jay-Z owned music streaming service as their default music app so that when they ask Alexa to play music she jumps straight to Tidal. It’s as simple as going to Settings in the Alexa app, then to Music and tapping ‘Choose default music services’ and selecting Tidal.
