Facebook May Introduce Music Service

Facebook are interested in “getting into music” having held talks with major labels Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group about integrating some sort of music service into their social media platform, however as of yet there is no word what that may include though sources say they want to do something “unique”.

Facebook is currently the only one out of tech’s five biggest corporations without a music service with Amazon, Apple, Google and Microsoft all offering their own.

Facebook has 1.44 billion users and people spend over 40 minutes a day on average in the US so any foray into the music industry could be a game changer.

Sources say that discussions are still in very early stages and Facebook declined to comment on any plans so for now we will have to wait and see what the social media giant has up it’s sleeve.
