How to take control of your Google Play Music artist profile

Whether you’re a solo musician, in a band, or if you just represent an artist, this guide will tell you all you need to know to gain the power over your artist page on Google Play Music.

The first thing to determine is whether you already have an Artist Hub account. If you do skip below to the second section. If you don’t then follow the instructions below. Unfortunately Google don’t yet provide overall label access, only solo artist/bands.

The following will guide you through creating an Artist Hub account as well as claiming your artist profile:

  1. Visit play.google.com/music/publish
  2. Sign-in with the Google account to which you would like your Google Play store page associated.
  3. Search for your artist name.
    • If found, click the Select button next to your artist name.
    • If not found, select Create This Store Page toward the bottom of the screen.
  4. You may be asked to provide a verification code to verify your identify. Go here to request a verification code.
  5. Accept all the agreements and terms of service.
  6. To pay the one-time signup fee, please provide your credit card information using your Google Payments account. Providing credit card information is one way that we help protect against artist impersonation. Once payment is made, you should have instant access to begin editing your Google Play store page.

If you already have an Artist Hub account here’s how to claim your artist profile:

  1. Go to Artists & Music.
  2. Select Claim Additional Artist toward the bottom of the screen.
  3. Search for your artist name.
    • If found, click the Select button next to your artist name.
Note: If the artist that you would like to select is already claimed, please file a Google Play store page dispute.
    • If not found, select Create This Store page toward the bottom of the screen.
  4. You may be asked to provide a verification code to verify your identify. Go here to request a verification code.
Note: If you have been issued a verification code that isn’t working, please contact artist support.
  5. Accept all the agreements and terms of service.
  6. Provide your credit card information using Google Payments. Providing credit card information is one way that we help protect artist identity. Once payment is made, you should have instant access to begin editing your Google Play store page.
