Well, I have exactly this problem with RnB’s number 1 willy cloth Kanye West.

Following his absurd outburst at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for the ‘Video Of The Year’ award, Kanye Seems to have done a bit of soul searching and has claimed via Twitter that he has written a song for Taylor as something of an apology.

As much as his onstage rebellion was a hilarious highlight of an otherwise rather dull ceremony, I’m sure that Taylor would rather just forget about it. I’m also sure that Kayne, as brilliant and talented as he is would not thrive in a country/Hip-Hop collaboration, and would leave himself and all his fans royally humiliated (again). Of course there is a part of me curious to here this inevitable abomination, but it will only make him harder to defend to his various critics.

Keep yourself informed, and pester decision makers in the industry to help you out. You can do this even more easily by downloading Tweetdeck, a little program that lets you find out who’s talking about certain search terms (your band’s name for instance), and different groups of people that you’re following.

1) twitpic: send photos from your mobile phone which will post links to them on twitter; a quick way to give your fans a visual look at what your band is currently doing (for example: recording, rehearsal, sound check, etc.)

2) twiddeo: similar to twitpic, but for video, allowing you to provide short video clips of your shows, interviews, touring adventures, etc.

3) twtpoll: ask your fans a question and get a response via twitter (e.g. what cities should we play next?)

4) twitzu: create an event (e.g. meet and greet) with description and location info and send it to your twitter followers and receive RSVPs from them

5) tweetchat – create rooms in Twitter to post tweets about a particular topic (e.g. your latest release)
