RouteNote on the Inquisitr Blog

RouteNote is an online music distribution service that provies artists with instant access to a large proportion of the online market.

Using RouteNote is simple: artists upload tracks to the RouteNote catalogue and enter into a non exclusive agreement permitting RouteNote to distribute their music. They then select the outlets they want their music available on and within moments their songs are available for purchase across a range of sites. RouteNote’s cut is highly competitive, with the company taking only 10% of each sale.

The service is aimed at independent musicians looking at ways of distributing their music, and offers a variety of promotional support tools as well. Distribution partners include Napster, Snocap, Samsung Mobile and iTunes.

It’s a neat middle-man service with great rates targeting an interesting niche. If you’re an unsigned muso looking for a leg up, RouteNote is worth a look.

China Mobile Has Over 80 Million Subscribers

China Mobile is one of the leading telecommunications companies within China, and they have released figures on Wednesday that stated they have more than 80 million subscribers to the M.Music Wireless Music Club. M.Music involves all four major labels and includes downloads, music videos, artist photos, ringtones, and even SMS-based magazines.  The service was launched in July of 2006.

The subscribers have doubled since September 2007, but this 80 million is only a small part of the 421.7 million subscribers that have across their entire network. Despite its heft, China Mobile faces serious competition from companies like China Telecom and China Unicom.  Among its future initiatives, China Mobile is now spreading a homegrown 3G connectivity protocol, one that aims to supercharge multimedia delivery and communications.

China is an emerging market, not just economically but in a variety of markets. It would be great if we could some how take our musicians music to that side of the world, because the sheer size of the market is unrivalled.

Whats Happening At RouteNote?

I thought it was about time that we sent everyone an update of what is happening here at RouteNote.

RouteNote is on the rise and every month more and more artists have been signing up to use our service. Music from these artists has already headed to our retail partners so stay tuned, because in the coming weeks you will see them online.

On the RouteNote blog we have added a few sections to our sidebar, just to let every know that you can now find all our videos on our YouTube Channel. Additionally, you can get in contact with us either via our Myspace or Twitter.

Additions: we are currently in talks to possibly add some more retail partners (so check back for that), and we are going to be adding some marketing tools to artist profiles, so they are able to spread the word about their band right across the internet. If there are any marketing tools you would like to see added to the service, please drop us an email and let us know.

RouteNote Featured On The InQuisitr

RouteNote has been featured on Duncan Rileys new site, The Inquisitr. Duncan is mostly known for being one of the head writers over at Techcrunch, but he has just left that post to launch this new endeavour. The article is not a huge review, but it does showcase our services to a growing audience.
