The new album is called Let England Shake and will come out on February 14 through Island Records.

The album was recorded in a 19th Century church in Dorset with long time collaborator Flood, who co-produced the record along with Harvey and John Parish. As you’d also expect, with the album comes live shows.

Is it just me or has R.E.M been around for the last 100 years. R.E.M have just finished recording their 15th studio album (thats right 15th!), which is set to be released by Warner Bros. Records in the Spring of 2011.

The band has re-teamed with Grammy Award-winning producer Jacknife Lee, who produced R.E.M.’s acclaimed previous album Accelerate. R.E.M. and Lee have been recording in New Orleans at the Music Shed and in Berlin at the famed Hansa Studios, where several legendary albums, including David Bowie’s Heroes, U2’s Achtung Baby, and Iggy Pop’s Lust for Life, were made.

Radiohead is one of the worlds most influencial bands and they are set to release a new album. Pitchfork reports that in an interview with the BBC 6 yesterday, Radiohead drummer Phil Selway mentioned that they are hoping to release their new album this year.

“’It’s genuinely exciting. It’s very different from what we did last time. It’s really nice to be doing this,’ he said, contrasting the sessions with the recording of In Rainbows, which he referred to as “a slog.”

“’Ideally, it would be great if it came out sometime this year. It has got to; I hope so. We’re at the finishing line. When you’re making a record, a film, write a book for ages and ages you think the finishing line is miles away. Now it feels it’s in touching distance. But of course, it being a creative process, at the last bit also, you have bursts of energy, you achieve a lot of things in a small period of time and then you’re nearly there. It might slow down. But yeah, hopefully it will be a matter of weeks.’”

In other Radiohead news, Selway’s first solo record, Familial, will be released on August 30, 2010.

Arcade Fire have named their third album The Suburbs. According to Spin, The Suburbs will be released on August 3rd, was recorded in New York and Montreal, and produced by the band. The disc will be preceded by a 12” single featuring the songs noted above, and the album itself will be released in a multitude of ways to ensure that you won’t download it illegally, as well as pay far too much, including CD format, a digital download, and a “$44.99 package that includes double 12″ vinyl, a digital version, and a signed, limited edition poster.”

Internationally renowned Rocky Dawuni describes his new album, recorded during the recent transformative U.S. Presidential election and released today, as an uplifting exploration of social and global consciousness.

Lindsay has been working on the album since 2007 after signing with Universal Motown. It seems that the Motown name has just become a waste of time!

The leak of “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” (and another song, “Stuck,” which was released exclusively to Perez Hilton for airplay earlier in the year) suggests that the actress/singer could be returning her focus to a music career.

Let us fuel our excitement about these upcoming events by watching the newly released video for the first single, which is titled Drunk Girls. The album will be released on the 17th of May, and there are more odd videos up on the LCD Soundsystem website.

Hey everybody, the album leaked, and we wanted you to be able to hear it from us. We wanted to offer it as a free download but that didn’t make sense to anyone but us.

Which is a pretty cool way of going about things, if you ask us. Bound to generate interest in the band and their music, and more of a gift to their fans than a capitulation to the pirates. Music has changed so drastically that bands are having to combat leaks and pirates in new ways, and we really hope this strategy pays off for the band. Go visit the site, get a t-shirt, buy the album in legit music stores, and stream it on Spotify, and let’s make sure they get their dues.
