This is a really good reason not to use Facebook Places! Singer-songwriter James Blunt is set to be the first major artist in the U.K. to embrace Facebook Places.

Facebook Places allows users to publish their current locations on the site via their mobile. Blunt needs a little extra press just before his third album release “Some Kind Of Trouble”, which is due out November 8.

Ok Go has been receiving a huge amount of press over the last three months and this week is no different. OK Go won a Webby award for their online videos and now they are running a Facebook competition with their fans. Their fans are being encouraged to share one of their videos and whoever gets the most comments on their wall wins an engraved iPad.

Its great to see OK Go coming up with some interesting promotional ideas and trying to get the fans to help them promote their music.

Only days after Spotify had a major upgrade which included a lot of social and sharing features, We7 has now announced some new sharing features of their own.

We7 is still yet to make an official announcement, but it seems that users can now connect to their Facebook account to post details while also scrobbling tracks to Last.fm.

iLike has already raised about $16 million in funding since its launch in 2006. Additionally, in the mix to purchase iLike is Facebook, who recently got nocked back to purchase Twitter. iLike currently has one of the most popular Facebook apps, attracting about 5.4 million active users per month, but a pure stock play is likely to go over as well as it did with Twitter.
