Why Download Festival Is The Best Event This Year.

download-festival-2010-logo

Morning Music Fans (it was morning when i wrote this OK). For what looks like becoming the best Download so far, an a tough one to beat in the future. RouteNote have decided to throw out a few reasons why this one is much better than the rest as well as help you learn the juicy line-up!

  • With a so far unconfirmed or really too reliable number of tickets sold for the festival so far, which i’m betting means they don’t know yet because of the sheer volume. Download, regardless of the acts on, will have the biggest number of legitimate music lovers in the campsite they’ve ever had. This is backed up by the fact that they released another 10,000 ticket around only a month after original release.
  • AC/DC will be performing on the 30th anniversary of thee biggest selling Rock ‘N’ Roll album ever “Back In Black”. On the 30th anniversary of the UK’s biggest Rock’N'Roll festival. ON TOP OF it being the biggest year for Download tickets sale. That makes it a Rock’N'Roll biggest to the power of three, which is huge!
  • Rage Against the Machine are continuing something of a comeback off the back one of the closest Christmas No.1 races the country has seen in 10 years and the successful free London shows. Apart from the obvious brilliance of the band’s live performances which have no doubt done there part in bolstering the ticket sales.  And Bigger crowds + Warm Beer ÷ Weekend =  more fun! Good work everyone…….
  • The knock-on affect of the extra ticket sales have pushed the organizers to open the campsite much earlier this year. The argument is that this will in fact decrease congestion, making it easier for the necessary authorities to monitor things like ticket touts and skint music lovers sneaking in. As well as, theft within the grounds and exhausted moshers needed much needed attention. On top of the obvious benefits of the stepped up security and larger police presence.
  • The other festival line-ups this year have largely be seen to be controversial by some and just plain out of date by others. It’s not our words, it seems to be public opinion, with distressed regular tickets buyer’s explaining they’re anger in forum after forum. With acts like the Libertine’s being payed extortionate amounts of money for one-off dates that in their opinions (the general public) add to a loss of integrity to the said events. Making Download this years festival of choice for regulars and music fans in general, not just metallers.

AC/DC Angus Young Playing Actual Backtracks Box Set

AC/DC were offering an actual amp within their latest box set and I thought that it would be just a cheap and crappy amp, but here is a video to prove otherwise.

10 Songs You Should Not Play At Your Wedding

angry bride

RouteNote.com like to think that we provide a good service to the public with most things music. Whether you need a super platform to give yourself a boost as an artist or just advice on music in general. We have decided though to branch out as far as marriage advice, but in our own special way. After trawling thorough the dozens and dozens of songs that would all be sound advice coming from a best man of whoever to advise you to leave out of your (so her’s) special day! In no particular order, and we would love some feedback and some of your suggestions, 10 songs that you should not have played at your wedding. RouteNote.com would like to explain that it is Pro wedding, this is just for fun.

  • Highway To Hell – AC/DC. The song sold over 500,000 copies as a single, but the bride wouldn’t find the funny side if she had to come down the isle to it, but I could be wrong.
  • Girls - Motley Crue. Naughty, naughty. You only have eyes for your special someone now, remember!
  • U.G.L.Y – Daphne & Celeste. Just as rubbish a song as it is mean. This versatile entry can be used to insult both the groom by the bride or vice-verser, everybody win! Besides, even if your thinking it, don’t say it till you get home at least!
  • Rape Me – Nirvana. Do I actually need to explain why with this in inappropriate! One of the better songs on the list though, but still, that’s no excuse.
  • D.I.V.O.R.C.E. – Loretta Lynn. Come on chin up, that’s just not very optimistic now is it? Besides, honeymoons are fun!
  • Gold-digger – Kanye West. Pre-nups at the ready!
  • You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling - Righteous Brothers. A classic, released in 1965, the brothers were inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame last year. Still as true today as it ever was……….
  • She Hates Me – Puddle Of Mud. A nice kick in the balls way of accusing the wife of cheating.
  • Everyday I Love You Less And Less – Kaiser Chiefs. Having regrets are we? Honesty is the best policy you reckon? I’ll give that one some thought.
  • I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor. A favourite with the ladies. I don’t need a man, I don’t need a man, meme meee, meme meee! Its a song about a surviving a breakup FOR GODS SAKE. That’s just not what the day is about now is it.

Wolfmother Wow Fans With New Album And Lineup.

Wolfmother

Wolfmother are close to releasing their second album. The band were out in force last night (August 12th) at London’s Lexington Venue where they played a set that contained new material that will feature on “Cosmic Egg”, the eagerly awaited album number two for the UK’s favorite Australians.

The band seemed to be on a bit of a slope when two thirds of its founding members slipped off to create doom buggy (AUS), a side project that will now become a full fledged act. But the recent London event marked the first time fans could see the bands new line-up in the UK, and things for the band seem to look more positive. Along with original member Andrew Stockdale we saw guitarist Aiden Nemeth, bassist Ian Peres and drummer Dave Atkins.

No extra dates have been officially issued for in or around the UK, but you can catch the band touring all over the US from August 22nd continuing upto September 6th this year. 2010 sees the band touring Australia for February and March on AC/DC’s Black Ice Tour.
