A new app has launched to help independent artists and labels make the most out of playlist marketing on streaming services.

The app, created by Entertainment Intelligence, will allow it’s users to see their performance in particular playlists across different services. This allows them to find out what playlist is driving their sales the best and use that to adjust their marketing strategies.

The app will present rightsholders with a clear display of their tracks, the services they’re on, playlist curators, followers, territories, listener demographics, and even which devices are used to listen on. The UK music data and analytics company, Entertainment Intelligence say the app offers an “unprecedented insight into consumer behaviour, and the impact of playlist inclusion, with a significant level of granular data”, and that it will “empower clients to modify their playlist strategy to optimise marketing spend”.

Director of Entertainment Intelligence, Sammy Andrews said: “I am very proud of what Ei is taking to market. We look forward to working with many more labels, artists and managers who want to understand their playlisting landscape, as well as working with the rest of the industry on some amazing tools we have in development.

“There are some very exciting things in the pipeline here at Ei and we look forward to sharing those in more detail soon. We’re building tools that will take your data, clean it and present it in a way that allows stakeholders in the artist ecosystem to make informed decisions.”

Ei’s playlist data app is available to rightsholders either as a standalone service, or as part of a suite of tools that can be integrated with a clients’ existing system.
