Spotify gets a sleep timer for night time listeners

If you’re one of those people who just can’t fall asleep without some relaxing tunes or a podcast nightcap then Spotify have a new feature for you.

Spotify have launched a Sleep Timer for their iOS app that automatically stops playback after a certain time. The feature is the perfect addition for those who like to stream music and podcasts as they’re going to sleep, soothed into slumber by the sounds.

The feature is available on whatever you’re listening to by tapping the 3 dots in the upper right corner. Scroll down and select Sleep Timer and then set the length for how long you think it will take before you’ve nodded of and the streaming can end.

You can select between 5 minutes and an hour, after which the audio will fade out so as not to jar anyone awake. If you’re lacking inspiration for something relaxing to listen to as you drop off then Spotify’s Sleep Hub will present you with a range of selections made for late night listening.

The feature has launched on iOS and has already been available for Android users since May.
