Radio online broadcaster SiriusXM are jumping on the rapidly expanding podcast train with its purchase of Simplecast.

Simplecast provide independent and enterprise creators with tools to publish, monetize and gain insight for their podcasts.

Announced last week, Simplecast will join SiriusXM’s AdsWizz and Pandora teams to give Simplecast users unique revenue generating opportuniues from AdsWizz.

No word on terms of the deal. The move will help SiriusXM have a serious stake in the growing podcast market, with companies such as Spotify and Apple putting in recent efforts to grab the attention of around one third of American who reportedly listen to at least one podcast a month and many more around the world.
