Twitter have updated their audio cards to support Spotify so you can share clips of all the songs you love and listen while you tweet.

To get in the mood for summer Spotify have requested song recommendations for barbecues using the hashtag #SummerSoundtrack. To help do this Twitter have made the world’s most subscribed streaming service shareable via 30 second sound cards.

Twitter wrote of their new sharing options: “Any Tweet or Moment with a Spotify track link will play the audio in-line, so you can listen to the song without having to leave your Twitter feed. The music conversation on Twitter is massive, the three most followed people on Twitter are musicians!”

Audio cards launched in 2014 allowing you to share previews of tracks on iTunes with your followers. It was a hit and evolved to allow SoundCloud tracks to be shared on the social media platform, and then SoundCloud playlists. Although it kind of sucks you can’t share full songs on Twitter it’s still great to be able to share Spotify tracks regardless, and it’s a lot more convenient than sharing a Spotify link which users have to click, wait for the app to load up and then play.

To add a Spotify preview to your Tweet just copy in the track’s link from Spotify.
