Cornwall is home to a lot of magical people, music and events. This fact is rarely more clear than at Tropical Pressure, the celebration of amazing music from around the world – culminating in a little corner of the UK.

Music festivals are a very special thing. Just like Christmas they come around once a year, bringing people from all around together into one place to celebrate and share in each other’s joy. Some are more special than others, and I firmly place Tropical Pressure in this box.

This weekend Tropical Pressure returns to light up the hills along the coast of Cornwall with blazing colour and music from far-reaching lands. With a focus on celebrating diversity and culture, the weekend will see bands and musicians from the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa travel to this small pocket of the UK for a unparalleled experience.

The entirety of this beautiful festival resounds with a cacophony of colour and sound at every step. Festival director Tim Sturrop says of his creation: “We are all about celebrating of the richness and beauty that these cultures have to offer and what we share as people of the world. In these disconnected times it is vital to feel that we are all connected!

“By coming together to form a community of people who share a care for their environment, their creativity and of course their love of music. Intimate, family friendly, with an incredible line up of music, free workshops and selection of amazing food, we are welcoming to all. Come join the TP family this summer…”

Along with Ed and Marley from the RouteNote team, we’ll be soaking ourselves in the tropical vibes to bring you the best of what the weekend has to offer. We’ll be capturing some of the weekend’s greatest performances, interviewing some of the incredible performers, and we’ll have even more to offer so that you can enjoy the weekend alongside us.

We can’t wait to dive into one of the most vibrant musical events of the year and share it with you. Stay tuned for all our Tropical Pressure coverage and catch us on Instagram at RouteNote and RouteNote Sessions for live coverage all weekend.

If you’re interested in coming to join the fun there are still tickets available from the website.
