Producers are going to love SoundCloud and Pioneer DJ’s new partnership

When you slap together a new tasty mix on Pioneer DJ’s tasty DJM-REC app you can now ship it straight off to SoundCloud to share the love with your fans.

SoundCloud have teamed up with Pioneer DJ so that DJs can bring their latest mixes straight to their fans and followers, directly from the app. Use their popular DJM-REC app on your iPhone or iPad to simply start mixing in high quality and then without ever leaving the application send it out to the world for grooves-a-plenty.

SoundCloud say in their release: “We are excited to add Pioneer DJ’s DJM-REC to our growing list of partnerships and integrations available for DJs, including: Apple Garageband, Apple Logic X, Ableton Live, Avid ProTools, Steinberg Cubase, Music Maker Jam and PreSonus Studio One.”

In addition to fast, effortless sharing directly to SoundCloud, the DJM-REC app offers you:

  • Easy connection to DJM series mixers equipped with the send/return feature
  • High-quality audio recordings that minimize clipping and distortion
  • Live streaming mixes
  • Post-production mixing capabilities
  • Tracklist editing

The app gives you control of the peak limiter in your DJ mixer via the app which alleviates digital clipping with the tap of a button. It also means you can record your mixes straight into a digital format without the need for any analogue conversion. Analogue recording while your device isn’t connected to a mixer is simple using an external microphone with the iPhone or iPad’s microphone function.

The DJM-REC app also lets you plug your iOS device into any DJ mixer featuring digital send/return with a simple USB cable that lets you plug straight in and start chopping. To use the app with any digital send/return equipped DJ mixers you will first need to update the mixer’s firmware using the software from Pioneer DJ’s support page.

You can download Pioneer DJ’s DJM-REC app today in the Apple App Store, and try it absolutely free for a 30 days (then purchase for $9.99 after the trial period).
