My Top 10 House Tracks – 2014
I’m a big house fan, so this list was one of the hardest to narrow down. The majority of this list features artists who have made a huge break through this year.
1. Kiesza – Hideaway
Released in April, not in everyones taste, you either love it or you hate it. Similarly to Clean Bandit, with 170 million views on YouTube, this song has been played again and again on the Radio, TV, Clubs, House Parties etc. but in my eyes has done an excellent job in remaining listenable. Also, let’s not forget the video… it’s a must watch!
2. Ten Walls – Walking With Elephants
This is one of those great tracks that’s so powerful it doesn’t need a vocal part!
3. Duke Dumont – Won’t Look Back
Duke Dumont’s second single of the year falling just behind ‘I Got U’ in sales. It’s an absolutely amazing track with it’s house and dance blend.
4. ZHU – Faded
Such a simple track, but how can you not love it’s simple hook.
5. Cazzette – Sleepless (ft. The High)
This track amazes me every time I listen to it. How can vocals be so melodic? It’s a truly stunning track!
6. Gorgon City – Imagination (ft. Katy Menditta)
Gorgon City killed it in the house scene this year, with 4 charting singles and a top 10 album. Imagination is a non-single track from ‘Sirens’, but personally it’s my favourite.
7. Route 94 – My Love (ft. Jess Glynne)
Featuring vocals from Jess Glynne, ‘My Love’ was the first official single from the producer, and went straight to number one. It was a summer anthem.
8. Example – One More Day
Although not entirely house, it’s combination of piano, minimal synth and electronic drums give it a classic house feel.
9. Jess Glynne – Right Here
After her first two singles she featured on this year went straight to number one (Clean Bandit – Rather Be & Route 94 – My Love) Jess Glynne released two single as lead artist, including this one and her second collab with Clean Bandit, ‘Real Love’. Right Here is a really catchy house track.
10. Blonde – I Loved You (ft. Melissa Steel)
‘I Loved You’ is the first single of electronic duo ‘Blonde’ to chart, peaking at number 7.
