Music Streaming Subscriptions see phenomenal rise in revenue

As music streaming services continue to grow massively, growing the music industry after 2000’s stagnation, subscription services are making massive gains.

A chart from Statista published by Business Insider shows that whilst ad-supported music streaming made an impressive $600 million last year it was the same as in 2014. Music streaming subscriptions however are showing giant gains going from $1.6 billion in 2014 to $2.3 billion in 2015.

This monumental growth is even more impressive when you consider that in 2010 both ad-supported stream and subscriptions made in total $500 million.
