GOODFest is the newly revealed festival from Google that will livestream 5 different shows in a “celebration of progress, positivity, and the power of people to push the world forward”.

GOODFest hopes to spread good vibes and positivity with 5 different shows in 5 different cities livestreamed around the world. With the aim of bringing together music, technology and community the festival will raise money for non-profit organisations from ticket sales and online donations.

The “festival” will take place in 5 cities around the US and will each be livestreamed around the world so that everyone can be a part of the festival. So far 3 of the 5 sets have been revealed as well as the “cause” that their show will be in support of:

Playing for Generosity

Glass Animals – BAM Cafe, New York City on November 29th

Glass Animals will play a special intimate performance, plus Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Madame Gandhi, Shilpa Ray and other guests.

Playing for Humanity

Gogol Bordello – Music Box, New Orleans on December 9th

Gogol Bordello will join Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to create a one-off orchestration for The Music Box village.

Playing for Earth

D.R.A.M. – Neumo’s, Seattle on December 12th

D.R.A.M. will play with Hollis Wong-Wear and others.

San Francisco and Los Angeles dates and acts to be revealed.

GOODFest is hosted by Pixel, the new smartphone from Google which basically means – hosted by Google but look we have a shiny new phone you can buy. I won’t criticise Google’s blatant marketing via GOODFest however considering that each of the 5 shows will raise money for 5 different causes.

You can purchase tickets for the already revealed shows from GOODFest’s official site and stay tuned there for the upcoming date and act reveals or to set a reminder for the livestream.
