It’s Wednesday again and if you’re having anywhere near as painful and disappointing a week as I am, you’ll be in serious need of some new music. In light of my foul mood, this week I’m presenting you with two particularly upbeat artists, both of whom managed to drag me out of my self-created cavern of gloom. I’m sure they’ll do the same for you.

Here’s a fact I’m sure lots of you will disagree with; It’s as good as impossible not to love the Danish. Oh Land has done nothing to shake this idea from my mind. She has a powerful and captivating voice that still manages to give the listener an intimate listening experience, which is no easy task when competing in the mix with the upbeat and lively music she makes.
Currently in Brooklyn putting the finishing touches to her first American release, Oh Land is a massively promising artist that I urge you to keep an eye on. In the meantime there is a lot to keep you busy on her MySpace page.

Next is an artist that I’ve been excited about and wanting to blog about for quite some time now – The Cat That Walks Alone. Two things I would normally slap someone for are; 1) presenting yourself as a brooding singer/songwriter and 2) calling yourself a “cat” – somehow this young gentleman avoids my sweaty palm and instead receives my praise for his wonderfully crafted and cleverly produced songs that sound (in the best possible way) like you might imagine Simon and Garfunkel would have, were they breaking into music in 2010.
An album is due for release next month, keep an eye out on here for details.
