Master your tracks on SoundCloud with Dolby audio precision

SoundCloud have launched mastering for artists to get their tracks sounding perfect with the precision of Dolby.

SoundCloud have announced the launch of a brand new tool to help artists get the most from their finished tracks. Powered by none other than Dolby audio the new tool promises a high quality mix for those who might not be adept at putting the final touches on making their tracks shine once they’re finished.

For $4.99 a track creators will be able to use the feature to use Dolby’s advanced audio technology. Creators can choose from a custom suite of settings to use the automatic process which bests fits their audio and allows it to use intelligent, automatic mastering that brings tracks to life.

SoundCloud Pro Unlimited subscribers will have access to 3 free masters each month. They promise that the Dolby powered tool will create “wide and powerful sounding tracks creators can release with confidence”.

Mastering a track is a vital step in the process but can be overlooked by a lot of creators as it’s expensive to hire a professional and is a skill that needs to be learned. For those wanting to learn to master their tracks themselves to get it sounding exactly how they want SoundCloud are also launching some resources for creators to get to grips with the process.

  • The Mastering Sessions — a livestream series showcasing creators going through their SoundCloud archives to master their forgotten gems, b-sides and demos. The first livestream kicks off on Tuesday, July 14th featuring rising rapper, producer and independent artist artist Kota the Friend. Tune in here! And more sessions to come this month from artist JRich (July 21st) and DJ and producer Seth Troxler (July 28th).
  • ‘Mastered on SoundCloud,’ — In the coming weeks, we’re launching a curated playlist featured on SoundCloud’s homepage featuring final tracks that used the Mastering by SoundCloud, powered by Dolby tool. Simply upload and hashtag a master track with the hashtag #masteredonsoundcloud for the chance to be featured.

The new Dolby mastering tool is available as of today for all creators to make use of and finalise their tracks with. SoundCloud have more resources on mastering here.
