For the second year in a row Google Play Music will be the official sponsor for the 44th Music Week Awards.

The awards show will take place on April 28th in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel and brings around 1,000 music professionals and experts together for an alternative ceremony for the industry hosted by Music Week. The Music Week Awards “are the UK’s only music awards that recognise labels, publishing, live, retail, A&R, radio, marketing and PR”.

Head of EMEA music partner management at Google Play, Azi Eftekhari said: “The Music Week Awards has always been one of the most important and enjoyable nights in the music calendar. We’re delighted to be playing a part in an event that celebrates the huge talent and creativity within our industry.”

Judged by an independent panel of specialists the awards ceremony presents awards to over 900 of the industry’s leading figures as tribute to their hard work and impact on the music industry. The award features 22 categories to celebrate the various aspects of music that goes on behind the scenes.

Music Week’s publisher, Dave Roberts said: “The support of Google Play Music as headline sponsor is crucial to giving the industry the biggest and best night possible and I’m delighted to be working with them for a second year as we take the Music Week Awards from strength to strength.”
