Get people listening on Instagram with SoundCloud shares

Exploring SoundCloud and find an awesome new song you want to share with people? Or just want your friends and fans to hear your latest track? Share music on Instagram Stories instantly now.

Forget screenshotting a track on SoundCloud just so you can share it with your Instagram followers, now you can share the track straight from SoundCloud and give your followers a tasty peek and quick access to the full track. SoundCloud have just announced instant sharing to Instagram Stories straight from their app with just a few clicks.

Whether you’re listening to music on SoundCloud and find a great new track that you want people to hear or if you’re a SoundCloud artist yourself and have just dropped a hot new tune you can easily share to get easily heard. It’s as simple as selecting the options for a track and choosing “Share to Instagram Stories”. Then you can either send it as a direct message or add it to your story complete with album artwork and a movable SoundCloud widget with the artist and track names.

When people view it they can then click a link at the top of their screen and it will take them to the track on SoundCloud so they can enjoy it for themselves. Unfortunately the story won’t play a snippet of the song so users don’t have a sneaky taste of the track you’re pushing before following the link.

It’s still a fun new feature though, here’s how you can get involved and start sharing:

  1. In the latest version of the SoundCloud app, find a track you want to share
  2. Tap the share icon at the bottom of your screen
  3. Tap the Instagram icon or select “Share to Instagram Stories” (depending on what phone you’re using)
  4. Share the link with all your followers directly to your Instagram Story

The new feature began rolling out today for users with the latest versions of the SoundCloud and Instagram apps on both iOS and Android.
