First On SoundCloud promotes and celebrates creators in new ways

SoundCloud have launched ‘First On SoundCloud’ to celebrate and push 10 “groundbreaking artists” with new initiatives.

This week SoundCloud announced the launch of ‘First On SoundCloud’. SoundCloud say the initiative will “celebrate the inspiring stories and raw energy of creators whose careers began on the platform”.

First On SoundCloud will put 10 artists from their global community in the spotlight, from hip-hop, electronic, and pop. SoundCloud will bring their stories to life through apps, playlists, social feeds, and newsletters as well as through their first ever advertising campaign for creators.

Beyond those 10 lucky artists SoundCloud also want to help push the whole 10 million creators that use their platform every month. They are giving all creators the opportunity to upload and be heard on First On SoundCloud. Artists just need to tag a track with #SCFIRST for a chance to be promoted across SoundCloud:

Creators uploading their latest tracks to SoundCloud with the tag #SCFIRST will be considered for inclusion in the ‘First On SoundCloud’ playlist on SoundCloud’s homescreen, giving them global exposure to new fans, plays, likes and follows.

#SCFIRST on social
After uploading a track to SoundCloud with the tag #SCFIRST, creators can use SoundCloud’s seamless Twitter integration to immediately tweet their track with the #SCFIRST hashtag. SoundCloud will be randomly selecting creator tweets and tracks to promote to its millions of social followers.

#SCFIRST in SoundCloud newsletters and blog
SoundCloud will also randomly choose creators who upload their tracks using #SCFIRST for spotlights in SoundCloud’s newsletters and blog posts.

SoundCloud hope to use music, video, and photography to enhance the careers of creators and empower them to go further. SoundCloud’s help emerging artists go further as the world’s largest open audio platform which is, for many independent and smaller artists, their first port of call for their new music.
