Calvin Harris Hits 1 Billion Streams
Calvin Harris broke a record recently for becoming the first British artist to receive 1 billion streams on Spotify alone. With each stream paying just $0.007 in royalties, Calvin has massed a total of around $7 million (£4.34m) from streams alone.
Harris earned $66m (£39.6m) last year for streams, sales and gigs world-wide, making him the world’s highest earning DJ.
His latest number one hit ‘Summer’ has already become the artists most streamed track on Spotify with over 160m streams worldwide.
Calvin Harris is set to reach number one this week with his latest work with John Newman, ‘Blame’.
