Boomtown 2020 line-up revealed: Wu-Tang Clan, The Libertines, Mura Masa & more!

Boomtown is returning to tear the countryside up with a new chapter in their annual tale of madness, music and mayhem.

The first roster of artists to be gracing the stages at the weird and wonderful Boomtown festival have been revealed and needless to say it’s gotten us buzzing. Bringing a brand new and mystical multi-stage show to the grounds, 2020 is warming up for their biggest experience yet.

The stages will be crowned with musical legends new and old, with sets from: Wu-Tang Clan, Underworld, Kano, Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marly, The Libertines, Mura Masa, Kelis, Pendulum Trinity, Squarepusher, Orbital, Kool & The Gang and De La Soul. And that’s just the headliners!

2020 will see a new experience; ‘The State of Emergency’ which sees fantastical circus acts combined with showstopping technologies taking place on stages all over the festival. With 27 main stages now lining the Winchester grounds this is set to be their biggest festival yet – and it was already bloody massive.

Boomtown described their new State of Emergency shows:

“A high energy, theatrical spectacular of circus and performance, as well as boundary-pushing sound design, technology and special effects to create a 360-degree experience across multiples stages and areas. Curated by Boomtown production and theatrical teams, as well as circus troupes from across the world, the Boomtown story will unfold on an unrivalled scale throughout the 5 days.”

Last year the festival faced up against an aggressive Artificial Intelligence that aimed to deviously assimilate the festival-goers through intense dance beats, incredible displays of rock music, beautiful jazz on a picturesque backdrop and general craziness and wonder.
