A new report suggests that global superstar Adele is investing in a virtual reality company for music.

According to a report by the Evening Standard, singer Adele has invested some of her giant fortune into EVR Holidings’ MelodyVR app. The app, which is still in progress, provides virtual reality experiences involving music like a first person, interactive view of gigs.

Adele’s name doesn’t appear on the shareholder register as she used a nominee account to make the investment. How much she has invested into the startup isn’t clear either however the star certainly isn’t lacking in funds after releasing 3 phenomenally successful albums.

Chief executive at EVR, Anthony Matchett said that they couldn’t confirm whether Adele had invested money towards MelodyVR. He said: “We often hear on the grapevine that well-know musicians and their managers have bought shares, but we rarely have any concrete evidence regarding their holdings as most shares are held within proxy accounts.”

MelodyVR has seen a great start for an app that is in beta, even beyond its potential Adele backing, having gained support from the 3 major labels; Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music Entertainment. Earlier this year in June MelodyVR received a massive $5 million in a round of funding which they instantly used to invest in a new manager and president.
